‘Sense of the Sacred’ Coloring Book

For centuries, the Catholic Church has used art to illuminate the sacred mysteries of the Faith. Now, your child can follow in that tradition by making sacred art with the help of Sense of the Sacred: Coloring Book for Young Illuminators. This book contains 30 hand-drawn illustrations and accompanying Bible verses, drawing on the rich legacy of statues and stained glass in our Catholic Faith. Enjoy the majesty of Christ, the tenderness of the Blessed Virgin, the power of God, the glory of the Eucharist and the wings of armored Angels… and then let your child bring them to life!

Pictures include God the Father, the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Christ Scourged, Christ the Consoler, Christ the King, Christ Crucified, Christ the Redeemer, Christ Resurrected, a Crucifix, a Monstrance, Our Lady of the Immaculate Heart, the Pieta, the Woman of Revelation, Our Lady of Fatima, Mary Help of Christians, Our Lady of Walsingham, the Virgin Mary, St Michael the Archangel, Angel of the Chalice, Angel of Incense, Guardian Angels, Praying Angels.

My 6 year old (who incidentally was campaigning to stay home from school today!) got really excited about coloring and completed a whole page and ate her breakfast and had time to spare before they dashed off to the bus.

Dominic’s put beautiful talent and love of the Catholic Faith into each of these drawings. This printable coloring book makes Jesus and Mary look like the King and Queen that they really are. I wish that I’d had this when I was little.

I bought this coloring book for my 7 yr old and she loves it so much, she wanted another one. Printing them out on our printer isn’t nearly as nice as the actual coloring book, though. We’d love to see it in print again!

Hello! is there a text-free digital version of the book? I live in Brazil and kids here don’t speak english. ;)

    • Hi Francisco, I’m sorry, I don’t have one. Glad you’re using it in Brazil though!

I just ordered 6 of these for our family. They’re stunning! I like to allow my kids to color or draw when I read aloud and teach Catechism. It helps them focus while keeping those hands busy! These books will be perfect! There are an array of pictures with varying difficulty levels. I greatly appreciate that the images are so traditional, not like the watered down versions elsewhere. We are all looking forward to using them.
My older kids are even excited. I’m very pleased!
