For mature audiences | Sometimes writing serious storytelling for Catholics feels like a minefield - 'it's not Catholic enough!' or 'it's too Catholic!'

For mature audiences | Sometimes writing serious storytelling for Catholics feels like a minefield – ‘it’s not Catholic enough!’ or ‘it’s too Catholic!’ Douglas fused some crazy fun ideas together, drawing on his faith and his time in the military, to dramatize how exorcists engage with demons. His goal? To tell a darn good story, and share how he sees the world.

BOOK: SoulFinder
Retter is a combat veteran reluctant to accept his calling as a parish priest. But the evil he encounters in his investigation — a sinister cult and the demons it worships — may convince him otherwise. There are many tales to tell about this band of brothers and their clashes with evil. ‘Soulfinder: Demon’s Match’ gives readers, by the last page, a taste of the vast and unexplored spiritual battlefield that these men face. ABOUT THE CATHOLIC AUTHOR SHOW
The show about Catholic fiction for ordinary, modern authors! We talk creed, craft, and co-creation, rooted in grit, grace, gods, and dragons. Let’s inspire your faith and your fiction!

(Used to be ‘Silhouettes of the Truth,’ now renamed in 2022 to the CatholicAuthor Show)

We’re inspired by the words of St Basil to see the silhouettes of the truth’ in secular literature. In crafting fiction, we are also haunted by and hunting these ‘silhouettes’ of truth, beauty, and goodness that are dimly seen through stories. Human beings and human stories are full of flaws and fascination. As authors, we are drawn to dramatize the realities of the spiritual, mystical, and mortal life.
