The CatholicAuthor Scholarship for College-enrolled Students: 1 full year FREE

Currently enrolled college students are eligible for a full year in CatholicAuthor completely free.

Dominic de Souza

CatholicAuthor is inviting Catholic college students to come join us! You’ve already made the choice to invest in yourself and your future. We want to support your journey. Currently enrolled college students are eligible for a full year in CatholicAuthor completely free.

Any college. Anywhere.

Normally, CatholicAuthor membership is $5 per month, or $50 per year.

But we get it. It can be hard in college to even allow ourselves that. So just come on in. Consider it a scholarship to thank you for your journey into higher education.

You’re 10 seconds away from entering the Author group…

Note: You will be prompted to select a payment plan and fill in your credit card details. But you won’t be charged for 1 year.

In fact, if you’re at a Catholic college, please introduce us to your head of marketing. We would love to partner with your college to welcome more students to our community!

Are you part of a creative writing club? Hangout with your friends to talk about feedback and writing ideas? Invite your student friends to sign up with you!

Head over to the Contact page and send me a message with their email so that we can reach out to them.

About CatholicAuthor

Our CatholicAuthor community exists to support a special kind of creator. A faithful Catholic who loves to tell great stories for all ages and all genres, and inspired by their Faith.

These are the two pillars of our approach, because we believe that being a Catholic author is more than a hobby. It is intensely fun and rewarding and hard work.

But it is also a path, like a vocation. We are subcreators within the holy mystery of God. Co-creators of the world we live in.

So its paramount that we learn to understand ourselves, our world, and our faith – so that our characters, stories, and ideas can rivet and fascinate our readers.

When we support you in your writing, we’re helping you build a network of friends. You’ve got a safe space made up of faith-inspired creatives like you, who want to see the world the same way you do.

Our Catholic world is a spectrum of loves and divisions. CatholicAuthor anchors ourselves firmly in the SmartCatholics ethos:

A community of faithful, ordinary Catholics in the modern world, free of trolls, toxicity, and ads, faithful to our Holy Father Pope Francis and the Church, and committed to a culture of kindness and learning.

    Hello,

I am a college student and I am interested in the CatholicAuthor scholarship. To apply you ask for my student ID. I’m a little confused as to what you are asking for. Do you want the student ID number that was given to me by my university or do you want a valid student email?

Hi Melissa, either is fine. I don’t know if all universities provide emails. :)

How to write fiction for radio (or audio shows) | A Merry Beggars Workshop | Peter Atkinson

NEWS FLASH: The Merry Beggars are looking to work with, employ, collaborate, and pay writers across the USA. They have an ongoing content need for content! They need between 30-60 minutes of scripts every single week. Plus, they pay writers!

This short, intense workshop starts with the medium of audio and how it works. Then we go through different styles of audio drama that affect how you’re writing and what type of show it is. We go quickly into why writers should seriously consider audio. Then we’ll screenshare several real-life scripts created from stories.

By the end, fiction writers will understand the excitement of radio drama, how it’s different to writing short stories. And if you’re up for it, you can create and submit your ideas to the Merry Beggars!
